What size does the presentation board have to be? Also, is there another thread with info and sign up spaces for NWG?

It's a bit frustrating to find out 3 weeks before hand that I'm definitely going to need a board for full painting points. But if I missed it mentioned elsewhere then that's my own fault.

This is the registration topic mate :)

If you read carefully the appearance scores, you'll see that you DON'T need a display board for the full 60 points, but of course you need to be quite impressive in the other categories. It will be a struggle for anyone to manage to score 60 points anyway :)

The display board has no "minimum size", but it needs to be a board that actually enhances (and probably gives a cohesive feeling) the look of your army, otherwise, it might as well be a canteen tray

I know it's the registration topic. That's why I asked if it was mentioned elsewhere that I missed. :P

As mentioned I would need to be impressive in the other categories to get as full as I can get on points so no battle board would be asking for it. Just, it's a bit short notice for me is all.

What I meant with the "you don't need a battleboard to score 60" is that you can have a score in all 5 categories, but only the 4 highest values will be taken into account anyway

Ok, so I'm guessing I didn't miss it elsewhere. 18 days to order bits and build a max score board. :P So basically I would have to decide tomorrow if I'm going.

Now, triple cannon or triple grudge. That's the question.

Not too sure whether to attend or not at this stage, can I assume it will not be a ranked event since the rulespack is out 20 days beforehand rather than the 4 week minimum?
And are all monsters using combined profiles or just the mortarchs?

I'm assuming it will be ranked. The rules are what they always are: 2k uncomped with a ton of cool painting scores. The Undead Legions thing was a tweak whereby notice was given before any deadlines were missed.

Anyways, count me in.

This is only the second year it was 2k or uncomped . 2 years previous to last where scale two before hat where subjective comp.

I don't think I'll attend because the hotel is booked and I wasn't sure if the comp till this week. Also whether it will be ranked or not is a factor.

Good luck and hf to all attending!! I have always enjoyed the tournament.

If it's ranked then it breaks the criteria of the rules pack being released 4 weeks before hand. If it gets a pass then I'll be metaphorically waving my hypocrite stick due to the doo-doo I got for initially running my own bedroom rankings with my own system as opposed to the voted upon system, which I later changed to anyway. Not that I was ever in danger of being a top 10ish player anyway.

I'll probably try to get accom and a lift anyway, although, battle board is looking grim so I could probably bus it if I wasn't bringing one.

Are there any spots left?

Grand Hotel booked out, other places a little out but drivable. Last time I was with Ciarán and had a really cheap place on the outskirts, great with a car.

Will this qualify as a ranking event?

Well, it's not like there's actual rules for running combined profiles outside of the Mortarchs :) So only those three are unique snowflakes

Didn't even know about the 4 weeks rule, but as I'm the kind that follow the rules (what's the point of trying to enforce them otherwise ?), it will not be ranked
Some people will probably not come because of this *shrugs* It's their loss, we'll still have fun, drinking beer, exchanging banter and ... you know ... playing games ... with toy soldiers :)
I guess it should be seen as an incentive to try out stuff that you never thought of using in a tournament because it's not "optimal". Cry Fluffy, and let slip the Bunnies of War !

So no podium finish with gold, silver, bronze medals? Thought that ranking malarkey was finished with anyhow?

Can't wait, the only tournament I actually look forward to attending these days.

There will definitely be prizes and such at the end of the weekend (banter rights demand podium!), the topic was the national rankings or whatever they're called

This can only be viewed as a good thing. The win-at-all-costs gamers thankfully won't come, therefore the pure hobbyists (and Wicklow town) will have a much better time!, plus we'll see beautiful models and not proxyhammer.

Quick question for Nagash, or emrys: Fancy a stroll in the REALM OF CHAOS?!? If so, please enter via my INFERNALLLL GATEWAYYY muhuhahahah!

In fact, I challenge thee Emrys to a duel... you and Nagash are hereby grudged lol! Let's see what that little-headed bay boy can do in 1 turn :D :D

Nagash, hero of the Old World, determined to halt the Incursions of the chaos gods, accept your challenge foolish mortal

Look forward to it - getting my first game with the big guy tomorrow evening against Dwarfs - another tough challenge!

FYI my starting list will be something like - Nagash, 25 skels FC, 25 ghouls, lev 1 necro scroll, fellbats, terrorghist and varghulf

Key word, "starting" list! after a magic phase that will increase to another 6 blood knights, +1 Terrorgheist, etc etc

I'm still list tweaking, but my list will stay the same once I field it, and it cannot grow lol!

Looking forward to seeing Nagash on the table brotha!

Okay. Throw down myself, Tom McDonnell and John Kearney from the LoB for WHFB.

So, I've read that Nagash can summon units to other tables, make disparaging comments about your parentage on a 4+ and generally do whatever the hell he likes. I hear beating on his chest with your little fists while crying uncontrollably is the best counter. No?
